'The Sweethearts':

... an Eastern European immigrant worker called Janek lives in the underworld slums of a London several decades into the future. Global warming has taken its toll, and in the run-up to New Year's Eve he shies away from the scorching sunlight and stays in the shadows where he can. He works in a sweltering factory and can barely afford the rent on a single bare room. He spies on a prostitute called Tanya who lives and works in the room next to him but cannot seem to work out how to interact with her properly. When their drug- dealing landlord attempts to rape Tanya, events build to a tragic conclusion.
